Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died suddenly of an alleged heroin overdose on February 2, 2014, in his Manhattan apartment. He was 46. Variety's 5th Annual Power of Youth Event was held October 22 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. The event honored seven young celebrities for giving back to society, including Bailee Madison, Chloe Moretz, Hayden Panettiere, and Hailee Steinfeld. Around the same time they attended the Tribute to Women in Hollywood, three of our favorite young actresses got together for another occassion: Isabelle Fuhrman, Kiernan Shipka, and Hailee Steinfeld were photographed together by Elle Magazine, who called the talented trio "Hollywood's Next Big Thing." Don't you love it when lots of young actresses all turn out for a good cause? Last December, we had the Power of Youth Event. More recently, we had the Inspire a Little Love Event, held April 16 at Club 740 in downtown Los Angeles. The goal of the event is to raise awareness for those suffering from depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. ( Read more... )
